Serena Williams aimed for a winning shot in her 2024 ESPY Awards monologue.

The 23-time Grand Slam champion, who hosted this year’s awards in Los Angeles, brought a lot of humor to the event, with one of her jokes targeting Fever star Caitlin Clark.

Williams entered the stage accompanied by people dressed in tennis attire, first commending the No. 1 pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft before delivering a witty remark.

“Caitlin Clark had an amazing year and is nominated for three awards,” Williams started her joke to a huge applause at the packed Dolby Theatre.

“You are the Larry Bird in that you are an amazing player, you have ties to Indiana, and white people are really crazy about you.”
