The Cleveland Cavaliers are increasingly confident about securing a contract extension with Donovan Mitchell, according to NBA insider Shams Charania.

Charania stated on Stadium that there is growing optimism within the Cavaliers organization that they will finalize a new deal with Mitchell, potentially worth up to $209 million.

Previously, Mitchell had been under a five-year, $163 million contract with the Utah Jazz before being traded to Cleveland.

During the past season, Mitchell showcased his scoring prowess, averaging 26.6 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 6.1 assists per game, highlighting his impact on the court.

Securing Mitchell’s long-term commitment would be a significant move for the Cavaliers as they aim to build a competitive roster in the Eastern Conference.
