Vassilis Spanoulis, the head coach of Greece’s national basketball team, has confirmed that NBA superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo will represent his country in the upcoming FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament.

The 29-year-old Antetokounmpo brings a wealth of international experience to the Greek squad, having represented his country at various levels since 2013.

The upcoming challenge for Greece will be the Olympic Qualifying Tournament held in Piraeus, where they will face off against teams like the Dominican Republic and Egypt.

Slovenia, led by Luka Doncic, is thought to be the most formidable challenge for the Greeks in the qualifiers.

Antetokounmpo’s decision to join the national team comes after an impressive NBA season with the Milwaukee Bucks, where he averaged over 30 points, 11 rebounds, and 6 assists per game.
