The Detroit Pistons are parting ways with general manager Troy Weaver as Trajan Langdon begins his tenure as the team’s new President of Basketball Operations.

NBA insider Shams Charania tweeted, “As Trajan Langdon’s tenure as Detroit Pistons President begins, the franchise and general manager Troy Weaver are planning to part ways.”

Langdon, previously with the New Orleans Pelicans, brings extensive expertise to the Pistons, aiming to lead the organization into a new era.

Weaver joined the Pistons as GM on June 18, 2020, after serving as vice president of basketball operations for the Oklahoma City Thunder.

He had a significant role in scouting and player personnel for the Utah Jazz from 2004 to 2007 and was promoted to director of player personnel for the 2007–08 season.

In 2008, Weaver was named assistant general manager for the Thunder and was later promoted to vice president/assistant general manager in 2010.

His tenure with the Pistons was marked by efforts to rebuild the team’s roster and establish a competitive foundation for the future.
