The Dallas Mavericks have advanced to the Western Conference Finals past the No. 1 seed Oklahoma City Thunder. Dallas overcame a 17-point deficit in the second half to close out the series.

Kyrie Irving maintained his perfect record in closeout games, contributing 22 points to the Mavericks’ 117-116 victory in Game 6.

P.J. Washington Jr. secured the win with two crucial free throws and an intentional miss in the final seconds after he was fouled while attempting a corner three.

Luka Doncic recorded a triple-double with 29 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists, playing a pivotal role in the win.

Derrick Jones Jr. had another big game for the Mavericks, scoring 22 points, good enough for a personal playoff career high.

Gilgeous-Alexander, the MVP runner-up, had 31 points but couldn’t carry the Thunder past Dallas.

Jalen Williams (22 points, 9 rebounds, 8 assists) and Chet Holmgren (21 points) also delivered solid performances, but it wasn’t enough to secure the win.

Dallas now prepares for a challenging series against either Denver or Minnesota, starting on Wednesday night.
