Bronny James, son of Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James, has revealed that playing alongside his father in the NBA is not his dream.
As he participates in Draft Combine activities ahead of the 2024 NBA Draft, Bronny looks forward to carving his own path in the league.
Despite his father’s expressed desire to share the court with him, Bronny emphasizes his individual goals of making a name for himself in the NBA.
“No, never. My dream has always just been to put my name out, make a name for myself, and get to the NBA, which is everyone’s end goal that’s here. I never thought about just playing with my dad, but of course he’s brought it up a couple of times. But yeah, I don’t think about it much,” Bronny said, via Michael Scotto.
While LeBron has openly discussed the possibility of teaming up with his son, Bronny remains focused on his personal aspirations.
LeBron’s recent comments suggest a shift in perspective, acknowledging that Bronny should have the autonomy to make his own career decisions.
Recently it was reported that the Lakers do have interest in drafting Bronny if they have the opportunity to do so. The 19-year-old guard is expected to be a late first-round or a second-round pick.
