Former NBA player Matt Barnes believes JJ Redick would be a strong candidate for the Los Angeles Lakers coaching vacancy, praising Redick’s “great basketball mind.”

While acknowledging the pressure of coaching the Lakers, Barnes thinks Redick could handle it well. The Lakers are searching for a coach to lead them back to title contention after Darvin Ham’s departure.

“JJ’s a great mind, he definitely deserves a shot,” Barnes said. “That Lakers seat is always going to be a hot seat, and it’s always going to be a fall seat. So whoever takes it better be ready. Gotta have tough skin.”
