Former Los Angeles Clippers teammates DeAndre Jordan and Blake Griffin shared a special bond during their time together, and Jordan recently shared his thoughts on Griffin’s retirement announcement.

“I’m very happy for Blake, man,” Jordan said. “He’s at peace with his decision. I’m happy for him. He has so many things going on post basketball that he loves.”

Reflecting on their decade-long partnership, Jordan praised Griffin’s growth as a player and person, emphasizing his evolution from a high-flying dunker to a versatile point forward.

“I had the great opportunity of being his teammate for 10 years,” the Nuggets center said. “I feel like we helped do a lot of great things in LA for a long time. Being able to be teammates with a guy for 10 years and see his growth, how he pushed us and just his development and evolution throughout the game.”

Griffin’s impact on the game extended beyond his athleticism, as he continuously worked on expanding his skill set and contributing to the team’s success.

“When he first came in, he was dunking the basketball all the time. Then he worked on his handle and his jump shot, shooting threes and he became a point forward. He did a lot of great things and I was very lucky to have not only been his teammate, but his friend,” Jordan concluded.

Griffin spent 13 years in the NBA and has career averages of 19 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 assists in 31.9 minutes per game.
