The Boston Celtics have expressed interest in re-signing Blake Griffin for the upcoming 2023-24 NBA season.
However, the veteran forward, who was once a dominant force in the league, is currently in a period of contemplation about his future in professional basketball.
Celtics president of basketball operations Brad Stevens confirmed the team’s interest in bringing Griffin back for another year, per Boston Globe. Stevens also revealed that the former All-Star is considering retirement.
Griffin, the former No. 1 overall draft pick, had a relatively quiet season with the Celtics in the previous campaign. The 34-year-old contributed 4.1 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game while playing an average of 13.9 minutes.
