Trey Murphy III and C.J. McCollum led the charge with a combined 60 points to propel the New Orleans Pelicans (47-32) to a decisive 110-100 victory over the Portland Trail Blazers (21-58) on Tuesday night.

Murphy notched 31 points and grabbed eight rebounds, while McCollum, facing his former team, poured in 29 points, including five 3-pointers.

Adding to the Pelicans’ offensive firepower, Zion Williamson contributed 22 points and seven rebounds, further solidifying their position in the sixth spot in the competitive Western Conference standings.

Despite a valiant effort from the Trail Blazers, led by Deandre Ayton’s 30-point, 13-rebound double-double and Scoot Henderson’s 19-point, 15-assist performance, Portland couldn’t overcome the Pelicans’ offensive onslaught.

With this crucial victory, New Orleans secured a significant move in the standings, climbing out of the play-in contention, especially as the Phoenix Suns suffered a loss to the Los Angeles Clippers on the same night.
