The NBA is investigating Toronto Raptors forward Jontay Porter for suspected betting irregularities. Concerns arose regarding prop bets involving Porter during games on Jan. 26 and March 20.

On Jan. 26 against the Clippers, there was a notable increase in betting activity on the under for Porter’s performance metrics, including points, rebounds, assists, and made 3-pointers. However, Porter played only four minutes due to an eye injury, failing to meet any of the “overs” on the prop bets.

Similarly, during the March 20 game against the Suns, Porter played just three minutes before leaving due to illness, falling short of his projected performance metrics. These incidents led to significant payouts for bettors who wagered on the under for Porter’s stats.

DraftKings Sportsbook highlighted Porter’s prop bets as top money winners on both occasions. Porter also missed recent Raptors games for personal reasons.

It’s emphasized that NBA players, like all league personnel, are prohibited from betting on league events, including prop bets. Violations of this policy could result in fines, suspensions, or contract termination.
