In a poignant moment during the Golden State Warriors’ victory over the Memphis Grizzlies, veteran point guard Chris Paul found himself in a unique position facing off against his former protege, GG Jackson II.

Led by standout performances from Jonathan Kuminga, Klay Thompson, and Andrew Wiggins, the Warriors secured a decisive 137-116 win over the Grizzlies.

For Paul, the game held special significance as he reminisced about coaching GG Jackson II just two years ago on his AAU team.

Expressing his emotions postgame, Paul revealed the deep connection he shares with Jackson, highlighting the surreal nature of competing against a player he once mentored.

“Honestly, tell you the most fulfilling thing about tonight was GG Jackson,” Paul said. “GG Jackson was on my AAU team. I was his coach two yers ago. GG was on my AAU team with John Adams coach, some great players Rob, Dylan Ham, Aiden Holloway, a lot of great kinds.

“And GG is unbelievable kid. We done played at Memphis twice this year and I was hurt both of those games. So going into the game it was crazy, it’s crazy sometimes he still call me coach.

“He hit a three in my face early in the game, I was pissed because our AAU program is like a family. To see him, to be out there on the court playing against it’s something I never get used to. It’s kind of surreal moment.”

This season Jackson is averaging 13.4 points and 3.7 rebounds in 23.2 minutes per game.
