Opponents are employing a defensive strategy of sagging off Josh Giddey, forcing him to adapt, reports Joel Lorenzi of The Oklahoman. Despite being a 30.4% three-point shooter over his career, Giddey is averaging 14.4 points on 11.6 shot attempts this month.

He acknowledges the challenge this presents to his confidence but emphasizes the need to stay resilient and trust his shot. Giddey underscores the importance of maintaining confidence, as yielding to defensive pressure would play into opponents’ hands.

“Sometimes it can be a confidence killer. Seeing a big guard gap you and daring you to shoot the ball,” he said. “But you have to stay confident. You have to trust it because the second you don’t, they win and it falls into their hands.”
