Victor Wembanyama recorded a 33-point, 15-rebound double-double performance, leading the San Antonio Spurs to a thrilling 122-115 overtime victory over the Brooklyn Nets.

The towering rookie center demonstrated his versatility with seven assists and an impressive seven blocks.

In an intense battle, Wembanyama’s stellar overtime play, with four points and two crucial blocks, helped secure the win for the Spurs.

Wembanyama’s pivotal block on Dennis Schroder’s layup followed by a clutch alley-oop dunk off a Devin Vassell assist turned the tide in favor of the Spurs late in overtime.

Devin Vassell also shined for San Antonio, contributing 25 points and eight assists, while Keldon Johnson added 24 points to bolster the Spurs’ offensive attack.

Despite a strong effort from the Nets, led by Cam Thomas’s 31-point performance, the Spurs proved too much to overcome.

Dennis Schroder added 19 points and seven assists, while Dayron Sharpe contributed 15 points off the bench. Brooklyn’s scoring leader Mikal Bridges was limited to just 14 points.

The injury-plagued Nets, missing Ben Simmons, face an uphill battle in their quest for a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. Currently sitting 11th in the East, Brooklyn is 4.5 games back from play-in zone. Meanwhile, the Spurs have already been eliminated from postseason.
