In a historic performance, Luka Doncic dropped a franchise-record 73 points, leading the Dallas Mavericks (25-20) to a thrilling 148-143 victory over the Atlanta Hawks (18-27).

Doncic’s incredible scoring spree sets a new franchise record for the Mavericks and ranks as the fourth-highest individual point total in NBA history, following only Wilt Chamberlain and Kobe Bryant.

The Slovenian superstar’s record-setting night comes just four days after Joel Embiid’s franchise-record 70-point game for the Philadelphia 76ers.

Doncic also grabbed ten rebounds and dished out seven assists in 45 minutes of play. Josh Green (21 points) and Tim Hardaway Jr. (13 points) were the only other Mavericks to score in double-digits.

Teammates celebrate Doncic’s historic achievement with a water shower in the locker room, marking a triumphant end to the Mavericks’ losing streak.

The Hawks were led by Trae Young (30 points, 11 assists), Jalen Johnson (25 poins), Bogdan Bogdanovic (24 points), Dejoutne Murray (22 points, 7 assists, 5 rebounds) and Sadiq Bey (16 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists).

Despite a balanced team effort, Atlanta couldn’t avoid its fourth straight loss.
