Terry Rozier, the Miami Heat’s recent acquisition, faced a challenging debut as his team fell to the Memphis Grizzlies 105-96.

In his first game since the trade from the Charlotte Hornets, Rozier, who averaged 23.2 points, 6.6 assists, and 3.9 rebounds per game this season, came off the bench, contributing nine points on 3-for-11 shooting.

The 29-year-old guard had little time to acclimate, with the last 24 hours spent on travel and medical checkups. Despite the circumstances, Rozier didn’t make excuses, expressing his commitment to giving his all in every game.

“It was definitely different. But I make no excuses. If I’m going to play, I’m going to give them my all. And I just didn’t play pretty good today. On to the next one,” Rozier said

Reflecting on his debut, Rozier acknowledged the initial challenges of integrating with new teammates, emphasizing the need for time and patience.

“It’s going to take a little time,” Rozier admitted, highlighting the expectation that perfection doesn’t come on day one. He expressed confidence in the team’s ability to build chemistry over time, recognizing the shared basketball prowess among the players.

When asked to compare the Heat with the Hornets, Rozier emphasized the togetherness and synergy within the Heat, noting the collaborative style of play that will contribute to his adjustment.

“It’s just more togetherness over here,” Rozier explained, expressing optimism about the team’s cohesion. He acknowledged that judgments shouldn’t be based on a single day and expressed confidence in figuring things out as he continues to integrate into the Heat lineup.
