Anthony Edwards led all scorers with 38 points, leading the Western Conference-leading Minnesota Timberwolves (31-13) to a 118-107 victory over the Washington Wizards (7-36) on Wednesday night.

In a game where Karl-Anthony Towns contributed 27 points and Rudy Gobert added 19 points along with 16 rebounds, the Timberwolves avoided their first three-game losing streak of the season.

For the Wizards, Deni Avdija stood out with a season-high 24 points, but it wasn’t enough to prevent their fifth consecutive loss, marking the fourth skid of at least that many games for the struggling team.

Marvin Bagley III contributed 17 points and grabbed a season-high 15 rebounds for the Wizards, while Kyle Kuzma added 17 points, 14 boards, and eight assists.
