Rimantas GrigasRimantas Grigas left Lithuanian champions by mutual agreement. This decision came after three losses in a row in the Baltic Basketball League against Latvian clubs. The new GM Paulius Motiejunas said that he this will be a positive change for the team.

Grigas became the head coach of Zalgiris in mid-season in 2006 after the resignation of Ainars Bagatskis. He coached Zalgiris B team previsouly.

Although last season was successful for the Greens as they won three out of four possible titles (Lithuanian Basketball League, Lithuanian Basketball Federation Cup and Baltic Basketball League) but this season started in a bad way both on and off the court.

Gintaras Krapikas will take the hot seat. He played for Zalgiris in the 80's and used to be an assistant coach 2000-2006. Krapikas returned to the club this season as an assitant coach too.

Once again Zalgiris is taking the risk and giving head coach position to a person who doesn't have head coach experience.
