Even though Mark Cuban has agreed to let the Adelson family take control of the majority of the Dallas Mavericks, it seems he’s not intending to step away from the basketball aspect of the business. This move is quite unconventional in terms of ownership decisions.

“I don’t know exactly what the language is in the purchase agreement, but one thing I have been told, and the exact word I heard is Cuban will have basketball operations for quote forevermore,” said ESPN’s Tim MacMahon on the Brian Windhorst podcast.

“I assume that is agreed to in writing.”

In recent years, Mark Cuban has been focusing less on the business aspect of the Mavericks and maintaining his involvement in basketball operations. However, his role in basketball operations has diminished further since the hiring of Nico Harrison to succeed Donnie Nelson.
