Golden State Warriors’ forward Andrew Wiggins, who earned his first NBA All-Star selection in 2022, has encountered a slower start to the current season, prompting questions about his performance.

Wiggins is currently averaging 12.3 points per game, shooting at a rate of 45.3% from the field. Notably, his three-point shooting has been struggling, with just a 15.4% success rate from beyond the arc.

This is a noticeable dip from his previous season, where he averaged 17.1 points per game with impressive shooting percentages of 47.3% from the field and 39.6% from three-point range.

Despite the early-season struggles, Golden State’s head coach, Steve Kerr, remains unworried about Wiggins’ performance.

Kerr emphasized Wiggins’ extensive track record and his deep familiarity with the team’s style of play, having been with the Warriors for five years.

This long-standing association has provided Wiggins with a deep understanding of the Warriors’ system, which Kerr believes will ultimately help him regain his form and perform at his best.

“I’m not worried about Wiggs at all. It’s a slow start, and he’s got a long track record, he’s been with us for 5 yrs now so he knows how we play. I can probably try to help him out a little bit with some things but Wiggs will get there,” Kerr said, via TheWarriorsTalk.
