San Antonio Spurs’ top draft pick, Victor Wembanyama, received high praise from Clippers point guard Russell Westbrook, who acknowledged the young center’s unique potential and encouraged his continuous growth and development in the league.

The rookie recorded 11 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 turnovers in 26 minutes during a challenging game against the Clippers.

Westbrook highlighted the French phenom’s distinctive qualities, stating, via ClutchPoints, “He is one of a kind, as we all know. He’s going to get better each and every year, during the season, as long as he keeps focus and keeps improving this game, he’ll be fine.”

While Westbrook didn’t personally feel the impact of Wembanyama’s length on the court during their recent match, he acknowledged the young player’s looming presence, underscoring the significance of Wembanyama’s defensive capabilities and overall impact.

“Not me personally, he wasn’t on me much. But you know he’s there. That’s all you need to know,” the former MVP said.
