As the NBA preseason unfolds, Cole Swider, the undrafted forward eager to make his mark in the league, is making a bold claim.
The 24-year-old, currently with the Miami Heat during their training camp, declared his self-confidence as a shooter, asserting that he is among the elite marksmen on the planet.
“I have a lot of confidence in myself as a shooter. I think I’m one of the best shooters in the world,” he said.
Swider’s proclamation comes on the heels of an impressive display in a preseason game against the Charlotte Hornets, where he knocked down an impressive five three-pointers during the fourth quarter.
Last season, Swider briefly tasted NBA action, appearing in seven games for the Los Angeles Lakers, where he averaged 1.3 points and 1 rebound in just under six minutes per game.
However, it was his time in the G League with the South Bay Lakers that truly showcased his skills. Across 27 games, Swider averaged 17.1 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 1.8 assists in approximately 29 minutes of play per game.
