Matas Buzelis, an 18-year-old prodigy, decided to forgo college and join the G League Ignite for the 2023-24 season. Born in the U.S. to Lithuanian parents, Buzelis has already been registered by the Lithuanian Basketball Federation and expressed his commitment to representing his home country in international competitions, choosing it over the United States national team.
On the other side, Cooper Flagg has been making waves in the basketball world. Ranked as the third-best prospect in the 2025 recruiting class initially, Flagg’s impressive skills and performances led to a reclassification to the class of 2024. He is currently one of the most highly touted recruits in the United States.
Flagg’s achievements also extend to international play, where he played a pivotal role in the United States under-17 basketball team’s victory at the 2022 FIBA Under-17 Basketball World Cup.
