Christian Wood is reportedly keeping an eye on the Miami Heat, but it all boils down to what the club would attain if it completes their Damian Lillard pursuit according to Jovan Buha of The Athletic.

Should Miami attains Jusuf Nurkic in a package with Lillard, this would logically make Wood commit his intent to join the club as he won’t be able to enjoy the potential starting role he desires for himself.

Wood stands as arguably the best free agent left in the market upon averaging 16.6 points and 7.3 boards last season for the Dallas Mavericks. As such, there are plenty of reasons and concerns why he remains stuck as a free agent amid the capacity to build productive numbers.

But the fact that the Heat – one of his rumored suitors besides the Los Angeles Lakers – are prominent for its solid basketball culture, he may eventually pick them in order to restore his value and reputation amid taking less money.

With his ability to stretch the floor and be another scoring microwave, Wood seems perfect to complement his game to Bam Adebayo at the frontline. With the Heat also in dire need to patch up the departures of Max Strus and Gabe Vincent, adding Wood seems a low risk-high reward for them.
