The Greek national hoops team remains patient with the commitment of the rest of the Antetokounmpo brothers for their campaign at the FIBA Basketball World Cup.

Following his national team’s 2023 Acropolis Tournament opener against Serbia, head coach Dimitris Itoudis provided to the media that they got no significant update yet about the availability of both Giannis and Kostas Antetokounmpo at their side.

“They are still not practicing with the team and we don’t have anything more to say right now,” he said, via Harris Stavrou of SPORT24.

The oldest Antetokounmpo in Thanasis has been participating already for Greece in preparation for the World Cup. Yet, questions still surround the two younger ones most notably Giannis.

There were speculations that Giannis could miss this year’s FIBA Championships as he underwent a knee clean-up this offseason. The Milwaukee Bucks went on to address that there’s no final decision being made yet about the playing status of the superstar.

The Greeks are playing in Manila’s Mall of Asia Arena in the group phase of the World Cup and will battle the United States, New Zealand, and Jordan.
