The Phoenix Suns remain interested in finding ways to acquire Indiana Pacers’ T.J. McConnell, per league insider Marc Stein.

The Suns have registered a long desire since then to land McConnell via trade as their point man hole remains unpatched following the departures of both Chris Paul and Cam Payne via trades this offseason.

As such, Stein pointed out that a transaction remains a long shot for now as McConnell still wants to stick around with Indiana.

McConnell, 31, stands as one of the well respected veterans around the league given also his command, intellect and reliability. He also continues to get coveted by head coach Rick Carlisle due to his leadership value to his promising squad bannered by franchise cornerstone Tyrese Haliburton.

The eight-year vet averaged a career high 8.7 points last season to go with 5.3 assists, 3.1 boards and 1.1 steals for 75 games. McConnell also shot a highly efficient 44.1 percent mark from trey.
