The Raptors have taken a significant step towards strengthening their backcourt by re-signing guard Jeff Dowtin Jr. The 26-year-old talent has agreed to a training camp deal, with a considerable salary guarantee contingent on his making the opening night roster, as confirmed by NBA insider Shams Charania.

Dowtin’s journey in the NBA has been filled with ups and downs since going undrafted in the 2020 NBA draft. From various stints with different teams and G League assignments, he has now found a new opportunity with the Raptors.

Dowtin averaged 2.4 points and 1.2 assists in 10.4 minutes per 25 games during the 2022-23 season for Toronto. His numbers in the G League with the Raptors 905 were 16.9 points, 4.2 rebounds and 5.9 assists in 32.8 minutes per game.
