The Indiana Pacers will ink Tyrese Haliburton to a max rookie extension that may reach up to $260 million for five years, per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

The pact sets an all-time high in Pacers history. The deal also officially allowed Indiana to secure the long-term service of Haliburton whom they already identified as the cornerstone of their franchise.

Haliburton is coming off a robust 2022-23 campaign for the Pacers as he averaged a career-high 20.7 points and 10.4 assists in 56 games. These numbers ultimately propelled him to net the first official All-Star nod of his career.

Acquired by the Pacers from the Sacramento Kings last 2021-22 midseason, Haliburton already cemented himself as a star and a prolific floor general. He further improved his shooting game from downtown as he attempted 7.0 averages and drained 40 percent of it last season.

Haliburton is set to represent for the United States in the upcoming FIBA Basketball World Cup in the Philippines which will commence from Aug. 25 to Sept. 10.
