Serbian giant Boban Marjanovic has been told by his new club San Antonio Spurs that he can’t play at this month’s Eurobasket due to injury.

The 7’3″ Marjanovic, who joined the Spurs last month from Red Star Belgrade has a foot injury, as discovered by the team’s medical staff.

The Spurs have prepared a letter that was sent to the Serbian Basketball Federation that stated that Marjanovic must rest for the first three weeks and that he can not engage in any physical activity, especially this summer with Serbia at Eurobasket.

Last year’s FIBA World Cup silver-medallists Serbia are one of the front-runners for this year’s Eurobasket, which serves as a qualifier for next year’s Rio Olympics.
