The end of this season also marked the end of Udonis Haslem’s career. The 43-year-old power forward has retired with three NBA championships. For the last few year he played more of locker room role that cannot be replaced, says Bam Adebayo.
“Big shoes to fill,” Adebayo said about Haslem. “Definitely a lot more championships. A lot more tattoos. A lot more trash talking. I think he understands his role. It is time for him to go.
“He understands he has to shed this chapter and open a new one. I’m excited for that for him. I don’t think anybody can be another Udonis [Haslem]. I think he will be a one of one to walk through these halls and be the guy who carried the torch. It will only be one of him.”
