The Pelicans have their eyes set on Scoot Henderson who is projected to be either the second or third pick in this year’s NBA Draft, according to NBA insider Shams Charania.

In order to get the highly coveted point guard, New Orleans would have to make a trade because their highest pick is number 14. It could take an offer including Zion Williamson for the Hornets that hold the number 2 pick to consider a trade.

That is what the Pelicans need to evaluate internally, says Charania. “I’m told [The Pelicans] are going after Scoot Henderson. They want Scoot Henderson in this draft,” he said on FanDuel TV. “They’re having conversations with the Hornets I’m told about getting that number two pick.

“The question is how does the trade work? Do the Pelicans look hard internally of moving Zion Williamson? Would they move Zion Williamson? Those are the big questions. I don’t know if the Hornets would do number 14 and package of future first-round picks.”
