According to a report by Sean Deveney of Heavy.com, the Magic have set their sights on Raptors’ free-agent guard Gary Trent Jr. The 24-year-old shooting guard has one more year remaining on his contract, which includes a player option that he can exercise until June 15.

As a rising talent in the league, his potential acquisition could bolster the Magic’s backcourt and provide additional scoring options for the team. The Magic, currently in a rebuilding phase, are actively seeking young talents to add to their roster. Trent’s scoring ability and shooting prowess align with the team’s needs, making him an enticing target for Orlando’s front office.

If the Magic are successful in their pursuit of Trent, they could secure a promising young player who can contribute on both ends of the floor.

This past season Trent averaged 17.4 points, 2.6 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 32.1 minutes per game.
