New York Knicks star Jalen Brunson is expected to play for Team USA in this year’s FIBA World Cup in the Philippines, per league insider Marc Stein.

It remains yet to be seen if Brunson will truly don the colors of the Americans with the grand tournament set to happen from Aug. 25 to Sept. 10.

Brunson graced the court as the lights were brightest for the Knicks this year. The combo guard helped the franchise to post a Conference Semis finish with him bannered at the lead role.

Throughout 11 postseason games, he emerged with 27.8 points, 5.6 assists, 4.9 boards and 1.5 steals in 47.4 percent shooting to carry New York in a season of relevance.

Anthony Edwards, Tyrese Haliburton, Mikal Bridges, Austin Reaves and Bobby Portis have already committed themselves to play for the United States in the FIBA World Cup.
