Ronnie Burrell was promoted by the Brooklyn Nets to become an assistant coach under Jacque Vaughn, HoopsHype’s Mike Scotto reported.

Burrell served as the head coach of the NBA G League’s Long Island Nets last season, wherein he bagged Coach of the Year honors. He was hired by the Chicago Bulls in 2020 to fill their player development coach position.

The 39-year-old is a former professional player who played 11 years overseas. He enjoyed much of his playing success in Poland.

The Nets have previously tapped ex-Overtime Elite coach Kevin Ollie to become their latest assistant. Ollie was a finalist on the Detroit Pistons’ coaching vacancy which was ultimately grabbed by Monty Williams.
