Warriors head coach Steve Kerr has trimmed his rotation during the playoffs. Jonathan Kuminga is one of the players who is affected by this.

The 20-year-old power forward is averaging 2.3 points, 0.8 rebound and 0.3 assist in 6.2 minutes per game in the playoffs. He appeared 6 of 7 first-round games and was benched in Game 1 of the Western Conference Semifinals against the Lakers.

It is a significant drop from his regular season numbers of 9.9 points, 3.4 rebounds and 1.4 assists in 20.8 minutes per game.

Kuminga admits that it is tough to have that same focus when his playing time is very limited.

Via C.J. Holmes of San Francisco Chronicle:

“It’s still tough to lock in every single time. It’s still tough to smile every single time,” Kuminga said. “But knowing where I’ve come from, seeing how many things that I’ve actually been through that a lot of people don’t know that got me to this point… I feel like throughout my career, throughout my life, I’ve never been given anything. I’ve seen so many people just get handed stuff. That’s never happened to me.”
