Kevin Durant can only be vague about his rubbish offensive performance in Game 2, with the Phoenix Suns bowing down against the Denver Nuggets on Monday, 97-87.

Durant had 24 points, but it took the superstar to attempt 27 shots to reach it. He only made 10 field goals out of his overall shots en route to an inconsistent 37 percent shooting.

Still, he went on to produce eight rebounds, three assists, and two blocks in 44 minutes of play on a losing effort.

“They were good looks. Just didn’t go down,” Durant said of his shots.

“I could have knocked ’em down. Felt like they was good leaving my hand but it is what it is.”

After vowing that he’ll be able to respond in Game 2 because of his turnover machine play last weekend, things turned even worse for Durant most especially in his shooting clinic. He was bodied and swarmed by several wing defenders by Denver, with Aaron Gordon, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Bruce Brown, and Christian Braun rotating themselves as they tried to contain him.

As the Suns are now in a deep 0-2 hole on their Conference Semis bout with the Nuggets, Durant stressed the importance of pushing themselves to score consistently, as they poorly tallied a collective 40 percent shooting (38-of-95 field goals) in the Game 2 loss.

“There are no moral victories around this time,” Durant added. “Just gotta watch film, see how we can get better for Game 3 (and) protect our home floor.”
