The Lakers returned to the playoffs after one-year absence by defeating the Timberwolves in overtime (108-102) in the play-in tournament.
Dennis Schroder made a three-pointer with 1.1 seconds left to play in the fourth quarter giving Los Angeles a three-point lead. It looked like it was a game-winner.
However, Anthony Davis fouled Mike Conley as he was taking a three-pointer on the other hand with 0.1 seconds on the clock. The point guard knocked down all three free-throws to force overtime.
“It’s unfortunate that AD had a brain fart and messed [Dennis Schroder’s] game-winner up,” LeBron James said after the game before starting to laugh.
