Dillon Brooks appears licking his chops in anticipation of potentially facing LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers in the first round of the 2023 Western Conference Playoffs.

“I wouldn’t mind playing LeBron in a seven-game series,” Brooks told Damichael Cole of the Memphis Commercial Appeal on Tuesday. “The legacy is there. First time back in the playoffs, knock him out right away in the first round.

“It’ll test us good. They got good pieces, good players, and that’ll be a good first-round matchup for us.”

The second-seed Memphis Grizzlies are currently waiting to see who will come out as victors between the Lakers and the Minnesota Timberwolves in their Play-In bout this Tuesday. Should L.A. reigns, Brooks will indeed get that special chance to face the superstar in a seven-game duel.

This year, the Lakers have outlasted the Grizzlies in their season series (2-1), but James only played one occasion on the three-game matchup. In that game, he went on to drop 23 markers, nine boards, six dimes, two steals, and two blocks to lead Los Angeles’ 122-121 late-game rallies.

In terms of the head-to-head matchups, Brooks truly has to tighten up his intensity, as James got a 9-2 upper hand against him since he started his career. To add up, the future Hall of Famer is also averaging 25.2 points on 52.2% shooting, 8.4 rebounds, and eight assists when facing the feisty wingman.
