The Lakers will have to fight for a playoff spot via the play-in tournament. Their opponent is the Timberwolves.

If Los Angeles wins on Tuesday against Minnesota, the team will face the Grizzlies in the first round of the playoffs. A loss would mean a second chance to secure the eight seed against the winner of the Pelicans – Thunder.

LeBron James, who scored 36 points in the final regular season game against the Jazz, talked about facing the Timberwolves in the play-in tournament.

“It’s a challenge versus everybody and Minnesota is no different,” James said. “When you got guys like Karl-Anthony Towns, Anthony Edwards. Those guys both can go for 40 against you. They put multiple pressure on you.

“They got very cerebral solid point guard in Mike Conley who’s been in multiple playoff games. We know what we’re getting ourselves into.

“But today we should enjoy the rest of the day with the family, enjoy Easter, but tomorrow we come together we got to be super duper locked ad laser sharp focused on what needs to be done Tuesday night.”
