Before getting to the Lakers by the Jazz, Malik Beasley rooted against the Purple and Gold, he revealed recently.

The 26-year-old shooting guard viewed Los Angeles as a direct competitor in the standings. Interestingly, now the Lakers and the Jazz have flipped positions with Utah dropping to the 11th spot while L.A. climbed to the 10th place.

“It’s funny because when I was Utah, I used to always hope the Lakers would lose because they were close to us,” Beasley said, per Kyle Goon. “Now that shit bites back in the ass. But it’s just good to know you still have a chance.”

Beasley was instrumental in helping the Lakers overtake his former team as he scored 24 points (7/12 three-pointers) to help Los Angeles defeat the Pelicans.
