The American is a Colorado University graduate. He went undrafted in 2011, started his pro career with the Erie BayHawks from the D-League but still went to the NBA on Christmas time. He went back to the Erie BayHawks to finish the season and then signed with Triumph Liubertsy. Higgins used the next year to claim his place in European basketball: he finished the season as the VTB United League best scorer (20.3) and EuroChallenge second best scorer (17.9).

Dimitris Itoudis, CSKA head coach:

We were considering Cory last year when he played for Triumph and followed him this year in Gaziantepspor. He played big role in good system, showed that he improved as a player. Higgins is a good athlete, he can help our team on offense and defense, he can create shots for himself but also able to create situations for his teammates. Cory is very motivated to move to the next level and we are happy that he really wants to prove he belongs to the top.

Cory Higgins, CSKA forward:

It’s a great honor to have the opportunity to play for a team like CSKA Moscow. I look forward to giving my all, and being part of a great team.
