Cheshire Phoenix have announced the signing of point guard Sean McGonagill for the 2015-16 British Basketball League season.

McGonagill comes from the NCAA, Division I school, the University of Brown, where in his senior year, he averaged 17 points per game and became the 25th player in the school’s history to reach the 1,000 point landmark.

In his four years at Brown, he connected on 156 three-pointers, which ranked him, seventh of all time at Brown.

He had a spell in Germany last season, where he played for Giants Dusseldorf averaging 19 ppg, 5 rpg and 4 apg in 19 games.

“I am really excited to have Sean on board this year,” said John Lavery, Phoenix Head Coach. “Sean had a fantastic four years at Brown averaging 17 points per game and shooting 41 percent from three.

“He was a former co-captain at University which shows his strong leadership on the floor and I have no doubt he will run the Phoenix from the point this year.”
