Spain’s roster continues to get thinner with the news that Barcelona veteran Juan Carlos Navarro will miss this summer’s Eurobasket due to injury.

Head coach Sergio Scariolo will already be without guards Ricky Rubio and Jose Calderon as well as big man Marc Gasol.

And now, Navarro, the MVP of Spain’s 2011 Eurobasket win, will stay away from the international circuit with a chronic foot problem, otherwise known as plantar fasciitis.

It is estimated that the 35-year-old Navarro will be out for up to three months.

It’s an unfortunate series of events for the Euroleague’s all-time leading scorer, who has been injury prone over the last two years. He has missed chunks of the last three seasons with ankle and grade one hamstring injuries.

This latest setback also begs the question about if this was the Barcelona legend’s international swan song?
