The Bucks had a high profile political figure attend their home game against the Celtics as Guðni Th. Jóhannesson, president of Iceland was present at Fiserv Forum. He saw Milwaukee defeat Boston in a high-scoring game 131-125.

So far Iceland has had only one player in the NBA, Pétur Guðmundsson, who played for three different teams in the league in the 1980s, namely, the Trail Blazers, Lakers and Spurs.
