After an embattled 1 ½ season, Russell Westbrook’s saga in Los Angeles is finally over, but it could be just for now. (Writer’s note: Need help as you do history homework? Check this out!)

After being shipped by the Lakers this Wednesday to the Utah Jazz in a blockbuster three-team trade, the former league MVP is likely to be bought out. As such, if this scenario happens, the L.A. Clippers are interested in potentially signing him, sources told TNT’s Chris Haynes.

Westbrook, who is set to be paid over $47 million this season, may likely be released by the Jazz soon as they are looking to fully commit and hand the keys of their franchise to their young core composed of Lauri Markkanen, Walker Kessler, and Collin Sexton.

With the Clippers looking for a significant ball-handling unit after their failed John Wall experiment, Westbrook may help them to address their holes in the offense.

Westbrook in the Clippers can’t be more enticing for both sides, as the star guard will be reunited with Paul George.
