Russell Westbrook recorded 12 points, 12 rebounds, and 10 assists for his 209th career triple-double as the Sacramento Kings defeated the Los Angeles Clippers 118-109 on Saturday at the Intuit Dome.
DeMar DeRozan led the Kings with 27 points, while Precious Achiuwa added 25 points and 13 rebounds. Maxime Raynaud contributed 23 points, and Daeqwon Plowden scored 15 as Sacramento won three of its last four games.
Kawhi Leonard scored 31 points before leaving with a sprained left ankle in the fourth quarter, ending the Clippers’ four-game winning streak and marking his 45th consecutive 20-point game. There was no immediate update on Leonard’s availability for upcoming games.
The game was tied at 39 midway through the second quarter, but the Kings surged ahead to lead 68-54 at halftime. Sacramento extended its advantage to 90-70 on Plowden’s three-pointer late in the third quarter.
The Clippers mounted a comeback in the fourth, closing the gap to 103-100 on a pull-up by Bennedict Mathurin with 4:15 remaining. Sacramento outscored Los Angeles 15-9 down the stretch to secure the win.
Darius Garland finished with 25 points and Mathurin added 24 for the Clippers, who had won their last five home games. Westbrook’s leadership and timely scoring from DeRozan and Achiuwa proved decisive.
Sacramento will host the Utah Jazz on Sunday, while Los Angeles returns home to face the San Antonio Spurs on Monday.
