Former NBA player JJ Redick shared some inside information about a potential Russell Westbrook trade.

In the latest episode of The Old Man And The Three podcast which was recorded on Tuesday roughly 48 hours until the trade deadline, he said that the Lakers are close to trading Russ to the Jazz for Mike Conley.

“I’m hearing there’s a specific trade that’s close and it’s been reported on Twitter, so I’m not breaking news here,” Redick said. “But by the time we release this episode it could be done. It’s the Russ to the Jazz for Conley. I’ve heard that is close to being done.”

If such trade was to happen, Utah would have to include more players in order for the salaries to match. Westbrook is set to make $47 million this season, while Conley’s salary is $22.7 million.

This season Westbrook is averaging 15.9 points, 6.2 rebounds and 7.5 assists in 28.7 minutes per game.

Meanwhile, Conley is averaging 10.7 points, 2.5 rebounds and 7.7 assists in 29.7 minutes per game.
