The Celtics suffered a heavy loss against the Thunder (117-150). It was especially disappointing for Boston, being the first seed in the Eastern Conference, while OKC is just 12th in the West.

Celtics head coach Joe Mazzulla was brief when addressing the humiliating defeat. “[I] said the same thing [to the team], I said after the Phoenix game,” he said postgame when asked what his message to the team was.

“Whether you win or lose, it’s a level of humility you have to have in the NBA because those things happen. And effort and getting outplayed is unacceptable.”

Despite the loss, Boston (26-12) remains the in the first place in the East. The Nets are within reach with a 25-12 record and a game in hand.
