With plenty of time needed for him to be able to be back on a much-conditioned status, the Philadelphia 76ers will start operating Tyrese Maxey on their supporting unit.

Per Ky Carlin of USA Today, head coach Doc Rivers announced that Maxey will continue to come off the bench for the time being.

Maxey needed time to recover after experiencing a foot fracture that kept him out for over a month. He only made his return last week against the New Orleans Pelicans and has been on a minute restriction since then.

De’Anthony Melton remains appointed to start in place of Maxey and has been the backcourt partner of James Harden. As such, the third-year guard’s availability, in the long run, will still remain vital, as he is averaging 22.0 points, 4.2 assists, and 3.3 boards this season.
