Today it was announced the United States and Russia reached an agreement to release WNBA player Brittney Griner from a Russian prison in exchange for arms dealer Viktor Bout, known as The Merchant of Death.
While many basketball people congratulated the move, sports journalist Clay Travis gave a different take on the news, calling the worst trade in history.
“We gave Russia “The Merchant of Death,” we got back a WNBA player who hates America. This is the worst trade in history,” Travis tweeted.
